Japan's Teijin Corporation recently announced that it will increase the sales price of polycarbonate (PC) resin from August 1. Products whose prices have increased are PC resin 'Panlite' and PC alloy resin 'Multilon'. In the Japanese domestic market, the price increase of both products is more than 50 yen/kg, and the overseas market is more than 0.5 US dollars/kg. Due to tight supply and demand, the price of bisphenol A, the main raw material of PC resin, soared. In addition, the prices of auxiliary materials such as additives have also risen due to increased market demand. Teijin said that these cost increases are beyond the company's ability to bear. In addition, the company's profitability has dropped significantly, and the company has therefore decided to increase the sales price of polycarbonate resin.
