For example, the production of extruded boards with high domestic demand and the molding compound used in the production of car tail lights need to be imported in large quantities. In recent years, with the rapid development of my country's national economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, PMMA consumption has grown rapidly. However, due to the monotonous variety of PMMA products in my country, the small quantity and poor quality, which cannot meet the domestic market demand, the import volume has increased significantly year by year. In 2000, my country's PMMA molding compound imports reached nearly 77,000 tons, and at the same time imported 3,771 tons of plexiglass sheets. . From the perspective of importing regions, the total import volume of the four provinces and cities of Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu accounted for about 95% of the total import volume. PMMA is a product whose characteristics are between relatively cheap resins such as PS, PVC and ABS and high-priced resins such as PC, and its price is also in the middle position. PMMA has certain advantages in light transmittance, weather resistance and gloss, but it has its shortcomings in impact resistance. Because users do not have a deep understanding of the characteristics of PMMA, the domestic market has been impacted by alternatives such as PS, PVC, ABS, and PC. For example, although domestic manufacturers of sunglasses, sunglasses and some myopia lenses consume nearly 10,000 PMMA particles per year. t, but there are still quite a few lenses made of PS. The light transmittance of PS is lower than that of PMMA, which is not good for consumers' eye health when used as optical lenses. Another example is that in the current automobile production in developed countries, it has been stipulated that PMMA plastic must be used for taillights. In my country, many automobile manufacturers still use PS plastic for taillights in order to reduce costs. With the development of my country's national economy, the domestic plexiglass bulk consumer market, such as advertising light boxes, signs, lamps, bathtubs, meters, daily necessities, household appliances, and buildings, still has great potential to be developed. Compared with other resin materials such as PS, PC, PVC, PMMA is superior in many performances. With the increasingly perfect laws and regulations of various industries in our country, PMMA will surely show stronger competitive strength in more application fields. Special plexiglass products such as optical plexiglass, radiation-proof plexiglass and CD-grade plexiglass are still blank in our country, and there is much room for development and development. It is estimated that in the next few years, the domestic plexiglass market will develop at an average annual rate of more than 6%, which is roughly the same as that of my country's national economy. It is estimated that by 2005, the domestic plexiglass market will have a capacity of approximately 110,000 tons.
